Apprenticeship has been “life changing” for young broker!

Account Handler at Martin Kemp Insurance Services, Jasmine Delahunty, thought a career in music was for her. But after taking her Level 3 CII apprenticeship with the Networks, she’ll be following in the footsteps of her dad, Martin Kemp.

“Covid hit and I was stuck at home, so I started to go into the office,” explains Jasmine. “I found the work interesting and when the apprenticeship became an option, it felt like the right step.

“Before I started, I was unconfident. I have dyslexia and dyscalculia, so I often struggled with exams. I had the passion for learning and confidence knocked out of me at school.

“But doing the apprenticeship with all the support from Bravo Networks and the tutors, I’ve gained so much confidence and have found a new love for learning.”

For Jasmine, one of the biggest benefits has been doing the apprenticeship with a cohort of fellow Members. She says, “If I’d done it on my own it, I wouldn’t have got half as much out of it. It’s been life changing.

“When I first started, I didn’t have any experience of insurance. It was daunting, but there was another person who was in the exact same position as me. She’d also started working for her parents’ insurance company and didn’t have any experience either. It was nice to feel like I wasn’t alone.

When asked what she’d say to anyone thinking about doing a Bravo Networks apprenticeship, Jasmine told us, “The support from Bravo Networks, the tutors and other students has been absolutely incredible. Whether you’re at the beginning of your insurance career or have years of experience, you get so much out of it. Without the apprenticeship, I wouldn’t be where I am today. It’s given me so much confidence. I would say go for it.

“For anyone thinking about starting the apprenticeship, do it, I have gotten more out of it than I could have imagined.’’

Since taking the apprenticeship, Jasmine has taken over Martin Kemp Insurance Services’ household renewals and small commercial renewal  and has won around 13 new clients.

She adds, “I most enjoy researching and learning about the products and then speaking to clients about their situation to match them with the right solution. It’s satisfying to know I’ve made a difference to their lives.”

Jasmine is currently finishing her Level 3 apprenticeship but is already thinking about the next steps. “Now I’ve got the Cert CII, I plan on starting the level 4 apprenticeship and evenually completing ACII
