Our small but mighty team of three in Placement Support help Bravo Networks Members place around £2m GWP each year in tricky or awkward risks.
We caught up with Kim Chambers, Placement Team and Business Improvement Manager, to talk about how the team are forming new relationships now Bravo Networks is part of Ardonagh Advisory. She explains how this is widening the markets where they can place client cases to help Members win and retain business.
The power of collaboration
“We are a diverse team of highly experienced former brokers and underwriters who have a real passion for working with others and in the insurance sector,” says Kim. “We understand that in our industry people trade with people and relationships are key.”
For Kim, being part of the Ardonagh Group offers a huge amount of potential for the team to place business on brokers’ behalf. They’re looking to forge lots of new working relationships to continue to grow, protect and support Members’ businesses.
“Cathy, Andy and I have been busy recently getting to know lots of new colleagues. So far, the results have been really positive.”
Kim says that because connections are the foundation of everything the team strive towards, they make it their goal to get to know our Members and Insurer Partners. This is so they can provide the best solution for independent brokers’ and their clients’ requirements. “Since joining Ardonagh Advisory, we’ve extended that approach to internal markets we now have access to,” she adds.
Kim explains that the main goal for the team currently is around communicating the work they do to teams across Ardonagh in order to establish key internal markets that support the growth of our Members. “We knew there were plenty of people across the Ardonagh Group who could help our Members, so Cathy, Andy and I have been busy recently getting to know lots of new colleagues. So far, the results have been really positive,” continues Kim.
“From our perspective, that’s a really great place to be and we want to capitalise on that.”
Kim tells us that the Placement Support team have been establishing strong connections within Ardonagh, with Members’ needs at the core of their conversations.
She explains, “We’re a conduit between so many businesses across Ardonagh and over 700 independent brokers. From our perspective, that’s a really great place to be and we want to capitalise on that.”
“It’s about finding the most appropriate home for the risk for the broker and their client.”
To date, the team has placed an incredible £1.1M GWP for Members across the Networks in 2021. “We like to think we’re part of a Member’s team,” adds Kim. “When the tricky and challenging risks come through with only days left to be placed on cover, we step in and make the difficult easy. We clear a path straight into the right underwriter, working with both the Member and insurer to make the deals happen.
“It’s about finding the most appropriate home for the risk for the broker and their client. Through our strong relationships, we’re able to speak to the right markets to get the best cover possible for the policyholder.”
This client focused method is something which Members see real value in.
